Day 1 started off at 1:20pm when our group of four met up at school to begin our adventure. We were accompanied by a chaperone and made our way to the airport in Minneapolis-Saint Paul. Our flight had a layover in Chicago where we grabbed dinner before continuing on our way. Finally, we arrived in Jacksonville around 10:45pm and were greeted by our pastor who warmly welcomed us to the Sunshine State. Our pastor then took us to our respective host family's homes where we would be staying for the duration of the trip. I'm so grateful for our hosts who have been incredibly welcoming and accommodating. The warm and inviting atmosphere of Jacksonville has already made me feel at home. I can't wait to see what the rest of the trip has in store for us as we embark on this journey to serve and make a difference in the lives of others.
